port of SpainThe 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will now be held from 26 August. The organizers of the tournament confirmed this on Wednesday. According to Cricbuzz, the organizers of the CPL have tied up with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ensure that it does not clash with the IPL. All matches of the tournament will be held in St Kitts and Nevis as per the schedule. The IPL 2021 season was postponed midway due to the coronavirus outbreak and the BCCI had decided to move the remaining 31 matches to the UAE in September-October before the T20 World Cup. In order to ensure that the top Windies players can remain available in the IPL, the BCCI had appealed to its Windies counterparts to change the schedule of the CPL. The CPL was earlier to be held from August 28 to September 19, but it will now be held from August 26, with the final match being played on September 15. The IPL is expected to start after three or four days.
