Assam on Thursday witnessed largest single-day spike as 285 new coronavirus circumstances had been detected within the state within the final 24 hours.
With the brand new coronavirus circumstances, the state tally has now surged to 2,115.
Out of the brand new circumstances, 79 circumstances have been reported from Hojai district whereas 45 from Dhubri, 36 from Udalguri, 24 from Barpeta, 21 from Tinsukia, 16 from Kamrup, 15 from Lakhimpur, 14 every from Dima Hasao and Dhemaji, 10 from Nagaon, 5 from Morigaon, 4 every from Darrang, Bongaigaon, three every from Kamrup (Rural), Nalbari, Goalpara, two every from Baksa, Golaghat and Jorhat district.
Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned 285 optimistic circumstances for Covid-19 detected within the state on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the state had registered 269 optimistic circumstances for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, a person who was lodged at Guwahati central jail in a theft case had examined optimistic for Covid-19.
Confirming the report, Guwahati metropolis police Commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta mentioned the person was arrested by Dispur police on June 1 in a theft case and police despatched him to jail. He was examined optimistic for Covid-19 on thursday.
Later, the Covid-19 affected person was shifted to hospital from the jail.
It is the primary coronavirus case detected inside jail within the state.
