Brijesh Mishra asked whether he has taken Goa ticket or not? Arun Shourie said that he has taken it. Brijesh Mishra said, ‘Please cancel it. You will accompany the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister in the PM’s plane. Mishra insisted that Vajpayee and Advani would not talk alone in the plane if he did not go. When Arun Shourie boarded the plane, Vajpayee was already sitting by the window. Advani was sitting in the window seat across from the table in front of him. External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh was also there. The plane took off and a few minutes later Vajpayee picked up a newspaper from the table and opened it in such a way that he could not see Advani’s face at all. After sometime Advani also picked up a newspaper and started reading it. Shourie and Jaswant Singh looked at each other and took a deep breath. Then Shourie suddenly did something, on which he himself was surprised. He pulled the newspaper from Vajpayee’s hand and said that Vajpayee ji, the newspaper can be read even later. Why don’t you tell Advaniji what you want to say? Atal put down the newspaper and in his own style said whatever he wanted to say.
