Budget session of Parliament from January 31, know the rules changed due to Corona

New Delhi: Corona infection has also affected the budget session of Parliament. During the first phase, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha meetings will be held at different times of the day so that social distancing norms related to COVID are followed. During the budget session starting from January 31, the sittings of both the houses will be held at different times for five hours each.

Budget on February 1 at 11 am
The Lok Sabha will meet on February 1 at 11 am and the general budget will be presented on that day. From February 2, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha will run from 4 pm to 9 pm. The first phase of the budget session is to be held by February 11. According to the Lok Sabha bulletin, the chambers and galleries of both the houses will be used for sitting members during the sitting of the lower house in view of the corona virus epidemic. There is no formal information about the actual timing of the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. However, its meeting is likely to be held from 9 am to 2 pm.

President’s address
The President’s address will be on January 31. The second phase of the budget session will start from March 14 and will continue till April 8. The monsoon of the year 2020 was the first such session during which due to Kovid, the meetings of both the houses were held at different times on the same day. The same arrangement was in place during the first phase of last year’s budget session. During the second phase of the budget session and then the monsoon session and the winter session, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha began as usual.
