Microblogging platform Twitter on Wednesday stated the corporate stays dedicated to openness and transparency, and can keep in common contact with the govt to share well timed updates.

Committee chairman Meenakshi Lekhi had advised PTI that Twitter’s explanations to the panel on displaying Ladakh as a part of China have been “inadequate” and that the act quantities to felony offence attracting imprisonment of seven years. Twitter had come below heavy criticism and confronted a backlash from social media customers after its geo-tagging function displayed “Jammu & Kashmir, People’s Republic of China” in a dwell broadcast from Leh’s Hall of Fame, a struggle memorial for fallen troopers within the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Twitter had referred to as it a technical subject that had been swiftly resolved.

Last week, the govt had written to Twitter on the difficulty, saying any disrespect of the nation’s sovereignty and integrity is completely unacceptable.
