There has been a ruckus after the leak of its secret list containing dangerous people and organizations. This list includes about 4000 such individuals or organizations from all over the world including India, which Facebook considers dangerous. The great thing is that 10 terrorist organizations outside India are also included in this list. Apart from this, it also mentions America’s white supremacists, armed social movements and alleged terrorists. This list, named Facebook’s Dangerous Individuals and Organizations, has been released by The Intercept on Tuesday.
10 organizations related to India included
The Communist Party of India (Maoist) and the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isaac-Muivah) are among the 10 organizations banned from India, according to The Intercept. Apart from this, the names of All Tripura Tiger Force, Kanglipak Communist Party, Khalistan Tiger Force, People’s Revolutionary Party of Kanglipak have also been named. In this list, terrorist organizations operating from outside India include Indian Mujahideen, Afzal Guru Squad of Jaish-e-Mohammed, besides global terrorist organizations like Islamic State and Taliban.
Terrorist organizations mentioned in more than half of the list
More than half of Facebook’s list of banned organizations and individuals are alleged foreign terrorists. These mainly include the Middle East, South Asians and Muslims. In this list and Facebook’s policy, strict restrictions have also been imposed on these organizations and individuals. Facebook has a three-tier system. In this it has been told how the company will work in relation to the content.
Facebook divided these groups into three levels
Most of the restrictions are mentioned in Tier 1 of Facebook. This includes terrorist organizations, hate groups, and criminal organizations. Tier 2 has the lowest level of restrictions. This includes organizations running armed social movements. The Intercept said that most of the right-wing US anti-government militias are run almost entirely by white people. None of these organizations are allowed to create accounts or post anything on Facebook.
