Chandigarh/Dehradun
Even after handing over the command of Punjab Congress to Navjot Singh Sidhu, the ongoing discord in the party is not taking its name to end. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has openly protested against the controversial statements of Sidhu’s advisors. On Wednesday, Congress Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat also said that Sidhu should keep his advisors under control. These advisors have nothing to do with Congress. If Congress is harmed by any adviser, appropriate action will be taken against him. Talking to the media in Dehradun, Harish Rawat said that we have created an atmosphere of hope in Punjab with great hard work. I urge the people of Congress not to destroy this belief. Rawat made it clear that the assembly elections to be held next year will be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

24 MLAs including 4 ministers blew the bugle of rebellion
Significantly, four Punjab cabinet ministers and several Congress MLAs on Tuesday raised the flag of revolt against Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Four ministers Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Charanjit Singh Channi and about 24 MLAs raised the slogan of rebellion against Capt. These leaders said that they do not have ‘belief’ in Captain as he has not fulfilled the promises made before the 2017 assembly elections. This development is being seen as a deepening of crisis in Punjab Congress and open rebellion against Amarinder Singh.

Change CM if needed: Bajwa
Bajwa, who is leading a group of disgruntled leaders, had said on Tuesday that he would seek an appointment with the Congress president and apprise him of the political situation. He had also said that there is a need to take ‘drastic’ steps and if there is a need to change the Chief Minister, then this should also be done.

Amarinder’s camp also attacked Sidhu
CM Captain Amarinder Singh has also expressed displeasure. It is being said in his camp that Sidhu is trying to show himself as powerful by creating unnecessary crowd of advisors. But because of this the party is suffering even before the elections. Here the high command is currently trying to cool the rising heat in Punjab.

Controversy started on these statements of advisors
In fact, earlier this week, Sidhu’s advisor Malvinder Singh Mali had made a lot of headlines for his claim. In this he had said that Kashmir was a separate country. It was illegally occupied by both India and Pakistan. Mali spoke on the issue of abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in a social media post. He had said that if Kashmir was a part of India then what was the need to remove Article 370 and 35A. Sidhu’s advisor Pyare Lal Garg had questioned Amarinder Singh’s criticism of Pakistan.

Controversial sketch of Indira Gandhi shared
Apart from this, Malvinder Singh Mali has shared a controversial post on social media regarding former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. A sketch of Indira Gandhi has been made in this Facebook post. In this she (Indira Gandhi) is standing near a pile of human skulls. Moreover, he has a gun in one hand and a skull hangs on the barrel of the gun.
