Australia’s young batsman Prithvi Shaw could be a better option at number three in place of Cheteshwar Pujara in the Test series against England. Asked by a fan if KL Rahul should be replaced by Pujara in the five-Test series against England, Hogg said that Shaw, who opened the innings, would be a better option. He tweeted, ‘If anyone can replace Pujara, it is Prithvi Sau. I think he is better at number three rather than opening the innings. He is immensely talented and has a long future ahead. He is not in the team on tour but can come via wildcard. Shaw, who has played five Tests and three ODIs for India, is in the Indian team on a limited overs tour in Sri Lanka. Indian captain Virat Kohli hinted at a change in the Test team after an eight-wicket loss to New Zealand in the World Test Championship final. Kohli did not take any names but was upset that some players did not show the spirit to score runs. Pujara, who played crucial innings on the Australia tour, scored a half-century in the Chennai Test against England but could not play in the subsequent four Tests. In the WTC final, he scored eight off 54 balls and 15 off 80 balls.
