If you have gold, you will shine by burning in the fire, otherwise you will become ashes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) turned out to be gold. From the era of Atal-Advani, the BJP entered the Modi-Shah era. During this time the number of its MPs increased from 2 to 303. Today 42 years have passed since the inception of BJP. During this period, there has been a jump of 15,000 percent in the number of party MPs. On 6 April 1980, the party that set foot on India’s political scene had the privilege of facing general elections for the first time in four years. In the Lok Sabha elections held after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the year 1984, the people of the country gave only two seats to the BJP. Party President Atal Bihari Vajpayee also lost the election from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. He was defeated by Madhav Rao Scindia of Congress. Today his son Jyotiraditya Scindia is the Civil Aviation Minister in the BJP-led central government.
