Turkey’s president has ignored the Taliban’s threat, saying it should “end the occupation of his brothers’ land”. Erdogan has appealed to the Taliban to show the world the peace prevailing in Afghanistan. Erdogan did not react specifically to the Taliban’s threat to the Turkish military. The Taliban warned Turkey that the deployment of troops at Kabul airport could have dire consequences.

‘Muslims should not treat each other like this’
Speaking to reporters, Erdogan said, “The Taliban should stop occupying the land of their brothers and show the world that peace prevails in Afghanistan,” Erdogan told reporters in Pakistan’s Geo TV. He said that the way of Taliban is not such that Muslims should treat each other. Turkey had offered US surveillance of Kabul airport after NATO left Kabul.

Taliban had threatened
Earlier on Sunday, the Taliban’s supreme leader said he strongly supported a political solution to the ceasefire in Afghanistan. On the other hand, after the withdrawal of US forces, Taliban fighters have captured most of the country. Taliban fighters have also captured border posts in some areas bordering Iran, Pakistan and Tajikistan. At the same time, the US and the five countries of Central Asia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, have said that any new Afghan government coming on the strength of power will not get any support from the region.
