A bench of Chief Justice NV Raman, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli heard the Lakhimpur case on Thursday. In the Supreme Court, a letter was written on behalf of two lawyers Shiv Kumar Tripathi and CS Panda, requesting for a CBI inquiry in the case. The Supreme Court took cognizance of the matter and asked the UP government to submit a status report. The Supreme Court has asked the UP government to make arrangements for proper treatment of the mother of a deceased Lovepreet Singh. The Supreme Court has been told that after the death of Lovepreet, the mother’s health has deteriorated.

Supreme Court’s strict stand
As soon as the hearing started, the Chief Justice said that two lawyers Shiv Kumar Tripathi and CS Panda have written a letter to the Supreme Court in this matter. He ordered the registry to register the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Supreme Court asked the lawyers to appear in the court. Within a few minutes, Shiv Kumar Tripathi, a lawyer who wrote the letter, appeared before the court. He said that in this case, the UP government did not take proper steps to protect the democratically held demonstration. The court called for the need to register a case in the matter. Then the Chief Justice said that but an FIR has been registered in the matter.

UP government put forth
During this, Additional Advocate General Garima Prasad on behalf of the UP government said that the incident is very unfortunate. A SIT has been constituted to investigate the matter, as well as a judicial commission headed by a retired Justice of Allahabad High Court has been formed which is investigating. During this, the Chief Justice said that we feel that the way eight people have lost their lives, it is unfortunate. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said that who are the retired judges, what is their name? On this, the lawyer of the UP government said that we will file a status report after taking instructions in this regard. The Chief Justice said that you also tell us what has happened so far in this case in the Allahabad High Court. Health care instructions of the mother of the deceased
The Chief Justice said that we have got information that when the mother of a deceased Lovepreet Singh came to know about the incident, she has gone into shock and she is ill, proper treatment should be ensured to her. Supreme Court’s suo motu cognizance on the letter of two lawyers

Farmers were protesting in Lakhimpur Kheri area of ​​UP. It is alleged that the protesting farmers were hit by a car and during this four farmers and a journalist died.
