Indian team defeated Germany to win bronze medal in Olympics. Indian hockey has got a medal in the Olympics after 41 years. The Indian team, which was trailing 1-3 at one point of time, won the match 5-4 till the final hooter played. India got off to a good start in the third quarter. In this quarter, the Indian team took the score to 5-3, leading the match. It started with Mandeep scoring a penalty stroke. Rupinder Singh hit the shot and the ball got entangled in the net, hitting the German goalkeeper. After this, Gurjant and Simranjit Singh prepared an attack together for India. The German team was looking weak and the Indian team’s confidence was increasing steadily. Both the teams got many penalty corners but the strong defense did not allow the goals to be scored.
