India vs Sri Lanka: Cricket fans enter the field, take selfie with Kohli

Bangalore: In the final moments of the second day’s play of the second cricket Test of the Day-Night Test between India and Sri Lanka, three fans barged into the field after breaching security and one of them managed to take a selfie with Virat Kohli. After which the security personnel drove them out. The incident happened in the sixth over of Sri Lanka’s second innings when Kusal Mendis was undergoing treatment after being hit by a delivery from Mohammed Shami. Getting a chance to see the star players up close, three fans entered the playing area and started running towards the players. One of them managed to get close to Kohli who was fielding at slips. The fan took out his mobile and asked the senior batsman to take a selfie. The fan’s delight knew no bounds when Kohli agreed for the selfie. The security personnel then ran towards the players and with a little effort were able to control the fans. Even during the first Test in Mohali, a fan was able to enter the ground. Talking about the match, by the end of the second day’s play, Sri Lanka’s score was 28 runs for one wicket. India scored 303 for nine in their second innings. Sri Lanka had a target of 447 runs to win. India had scored 252 runs in the first innings. In response, Sri Lanka’s innings was reduced to 109. Jasprit Bumrah took India’s first five-wicket haul in the innings.
