Russia-Ukraine Crisis: The Indian Air Force (IAF) operated three flights from Romania and Hungary to Hindon airbase from Thursday night to Friday morning to bring back 630 Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine. The Air Force on Thursday morning operated four flights from the Romanian capital Bucharest, Hungary’s capital Budapest and the Polish city of Rzeso to Hindon airbase as part of the government’s Operation Ganga. Through these 798 Indians were brought back. The Air Force has so far brought back a total of 1,428 Indians from Ukraine through seven flights. The assistance of C-17 aircraft was taken in this mission. The Indian Air Force tweeted on Friday, “Using Hungarian and Romanian airspace, three more C-17 aircraft returned to Hindon airbase last night and this morning bringing back 630 Indian nationals from Ukraine.” India is bringing back its citizens from there under ‘Operation Ganga’ after Russia started military operation in Ukraine from February 24. These Indians are being repatriated by special flights from the border of Ukraine’s western neighbors – Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland as Ukraine has closed its airspace after the Russian attack on February 24.
