The delta variant of the corona virus that wreaked havoc in India is now spreading rapidly in America as well. Apart from this, there were alpha and beta variants, lambda variants in Argentina and Chile are also infecting people who have received both doses of the vaccine. Now it is being claimed in the reports that in the coming time such variants may come which are even more dangerous than them.

‘Will spread like wildfire’
According to the report of Newsweek, the possibility of such a variant is very less but not impossible. Quoting experts, it has been claimed in this report that there is a possibility of such a variant coming which neutralizes the vaccine and starts spreading like ‘wild fire’. There is a fear that it will destroy all the old records in the number of infected people.

Vaccines will be ineffective
According to Eric Weil, director of molecular pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, it is not impossible to have a more infectious variant than the delta variant. They say that it may be that in the coming time something like this will spread more rapidly. If the spike protein is changed due to the mutation in this new variant, it will neutralize the vaccines. Most vaccines target the spike protein itself and neutralize the virus.

Increased risk of not getting the vaccine
The report warns that if a large number of people refuse to get the vaccine, they will become a ‘mutation lab’ of Covid-19. Looking at the contagiousness of the delta variant, it seems that this will lead to a more dangerous variant in the coming months. University of Michigan’s Chief Health Officer and Infectious Disease Researcher Preeti Malani says that now it is going to be difficult to avoid the virus by just wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Vaccines are the only solution and not getting it done is creating a big hurdle.
