New Delhi (NCW) President Rekha Sharma has been given an extension of three years. The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development gave this information by issuing an official order on Friday. “The Central Government has nominated Rekha Sharma as Chairperson of the National Commission for Women for a further term of three years,” the ministry said in a notification. His tenure will be effective from August 7, 2021. 57-year-old Rekha Sharma took over as the President of NCW on August 7, 2018. Rekha Sharma was associated with the National Commission for Women in August 2015 as a member. He had openly supported gender sensitivity among policemen during his first term. It was due to the efforts of Rekha Sharma that a WhatsApp number was issued for women during the COVID-19 pandemic to register their complaints.
