The Supreme Court has asked the CBI to submit a report on the health condition of Sajjan Kumar, who is serving a life sentence in the 1984 riots. The Supreme Court has asked the CBI to file an affidavit regarding the medical condition of Sajjan Kumar before the court by September 6. Former Congressman Sajjan Kumar has sought interim bail on the ground of bad medical condition. On May 13 last year, the Supreme Court had rejected Sajjan Kumar’s application for interim bail, even when Sajjan Kumar had sought bail on the medical ground. The Supreme Court had said that according to the report of the Medical Board of AIIMS, Sajjan does not need to be admitted to the hospital. Later on 4 September 2020 also, the Supreme Court did not give relief on the medical ground. Senior advocate Vikas Singh appeared for Sajjan Kumar in the Supreme Court and said that Sajjan Kumar’s medical condition is not good and he needs to be admitted to a private hospital. Then the Supreme Court said that we want someone from the government to find out the medical condition.
