The animated movie revolves across the story of a middle school trainer, who had a dream of pursuing a profession in jazz music. When a manhole accident almost takes his life, he enters a netherworld of unborn souls on their strategy to earth. It is a fantastical place the place new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth.
Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious child soul, 22 (voiced by Tina Fey), who has by no means understood the appeal of the human expertise. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s nice about living, he might “simply uncover the solutions to a few of life’s most vital questions.”
According to Variety, filmmakers from Soul, together with director Pete Docter, co-director and screenwriter Kemp Powers and producer Dana Murray, partnered with American anthropologist and educator Dr. Johnnetta Cole and globally-renowned jazz pianist Jon Batiste to offer this sneak peek on the movie as part of the Essence Festival of Culture throughout a digital panel.
The teaser video also options the music ‘Parting Ways’, which was written, produced, and carried out by Cody Chesnutt.
The upcoming animated film will hit theatres on 20 November 20. Soul was earlier slated for a theatrical launch on 19 June, however, pushed again the dates owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
