Two local Lashkar terrorists were killed in an encounter in Danmar area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. There was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Alamdar Colony of Danmar area. Security forces surrounded the area and started the encounter. Confirming this, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that two terrorists were hiding during the encounter which were killed. According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the operation was carried out in the early hours of Friday after receiving information about the hiding of terrorists in Alamdar Colony. During this, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which the encounter started. Two terrorists were killed after which the area was searched.
A total of 78 terrorists were killed in the Valley this year.
IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar said, ‘Only two local terrorists were hiding who were gunned down. Both the terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba organization. IG Kashmir said, “With today’s operation, the security forces have killed a total of 78 terrorists in the valley so far this year. Most of the terrorists (39) in these encounters were associated with the banned outfit Lashkar, followed by organizations like Hizbul Mujahideen, Al Badr, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
