Supreme Court’s decision on ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, the petition seeking a stay on the release dismissed

Alia Bhatt starrer film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is releasing in theaters on Friday, February 25. Before the release of this film, it was seen getting caught in legal troubles due to many reasons. However, the path for the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film has been cleared. Now the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the release of this film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Actually, this petition was filed by a person who claimed to be the adopted son of ‘Gangubai’ while approaching the court. He worked with the producers of the film, actress Alia Bhatt and writer S. A petition was filed against Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges (on whose book the film is being made) seeking a stay on the release of the film. This decision of the court has come just a day before the release date of the film. According to the Bar and Bench report, a bench comprising Justices Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari was considering an appeal filed against the Bombay High Court order. Senior advocate Aryama Sundaram, appearing for filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, said the court is considering a case where the film has not been seen yet. “The censor certificate has been given. Sundaram also said that the petitioner should prove that he is the adopted son of ‘Gangubai’.
