new Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition in which an NGO named Hindu Sena had filed an application asking that an FIR be registered in the matter of promises to distribute free gifts by political parties in the UP elections. A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court said that we feel that this is some hidden agenda. It was demanded in the PIL that a case should be registered against Congress, SP, BSP and Aam Aadmi Party in view of the announcement of free gifts. In the Supreme Court, the petitioner had requested that a case be registered against those political parties who offer free gifts to woo the voters. The petitioner’s counsel had filed an application before a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court, asking that the matter be heard urgently.
