A person who had gone to gather bamboo in the forest in Chandrapur district was killed in a tiger attack, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra officers stated on Sunday.
The incident happened in compartment number 26 below Tohagaon forest range in Gondpipri tehsil, come 60 kilometres from the district headquarters, on Saturday nightstated FDCM divisional supervisor Navakishor Reddy.
He recognized the deceased as Dinkar Thengre (55) and stated compensation can be provided as per authorities norms, with Rs 25,000 given upfront.
“We have arrange six digital camera traps to hint the tiger,” he added.
It is the 17th incident in Chandrapur in last 12 months the place an individual has been killed by a giant cat, officers stated.
While 16 involved tigers, one attack was by a leopard.
