new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday discussed with his Netherlands counterpart Mark Rutte the circumstances arising out of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia and also shared his concerns over the humanitarian crisis that has arisen in Ukraine due to it. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gave this information in a statement. “The two leaders discussed the current situation in Ukraine and shared their concerns over the ongoing humanitarian situation there,” the PMO said. According to the PMO, Prime Minister Modi once again reiterated India’s appeal to both the countries to end the conflict and return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy. During this, Prime Minister Modi welcomed the ongoing delegation-level talks between Russia and Ukraine and expressed hope that a solution would be found soon. According to the PMO, Prime Minister Modi apprised Root about the progress of the campaign to evacuate Indians from the war-torn country. Along with this, he also informed about the delivery of necessary relief material including medicines from India to the affected people there. During this, Prime Minister Modi recalled the digital conference held with Prime Minister Root in April last year and also invited Root to visit India.
