The US on Monday stated it had permitted a $2.Four billion sale of 100 Harpoon coastal defence methods to Taiwan, defying Beijing’s anger over a $1 billion missile deal last week.
The announcement arrive simply hours after Beijing stated it could sanction US corporations concerned in an earlier arms sales to the democratic self-ruled island.
The deal entails 100 Harpoon Coastal Defence Systems, which incorporates 400 RGM-84L-4 Harpoon Block II surface-launched missiles with a spread of round 125 kilometres. The missiles, manufactured by Boeing, could be positioned on mounted platforms or mounted on vehicles.
The workplace of Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen stated the sale would “upgrade asymmetric warfare capabilities”.

Hong Kong: three held below nationwide security regulation
Hong Kong police on Tuesday detained three people below the town’s contentious nationwide security regulation on suspicion of publishing content to incite others to secede from China.
Police stated two males and a lady, aged between 17 and 21, had been in custody and an investigation was below method.
