Bangalore: Ahead of IPL 2022, players’ auction is being held in Bengaluru. 74 players were sold in the first day’s auction on Saturday. In which many big foreign names were also included along with India. Presently Indian team cricket is playing West Indies players. On Friday, India defeated West Indies 3-0 in the three-match ODI series. Now the T20 series between the two teams is going to start from February 16. Before that, the players of the Indian team sat together and watched the auction on the first day of IPL. Indian captain Rohit Sharma shared the photo of the players watching the auction on Instagram. Yuzvendra Chahal, Ishaan Kishan (), Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav were in the photo. Rohit Sharma wrote – Some tension filled, some happy faces. The bids of Pant and Suryakumar included in this photo did not take place in the auction. Shreyas Iyer, who was part of Delhi’s team till last year, was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 12.25 crores. After Iyer was not made the captain, it was decided to leave Delhi’s side. Kolkata team does not have a captain yet. The team may make Iyer its new captain. Delhi Capitals bought fast bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. He got Rs 10.75 crore. Shardul was a part of last season’s champions Chennai Super Kings. Ishan Kishan was the most expensive player of this auction. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for 15.25 crores. Ishaan was part of the team last year as well, but the franchise did not retain him. Sunrisers Hyderabad had bid up to 15 crores to buy Ishaan. At the same time, Yuzvendra Chahal will now play for Rajasthan Royals. He was bought by the winning team of the first season for Rs 6.5 crore.
