New Delhi The Supreme Court has said that we have to put a check on bogus PILs of lawyers. The court said that if you copy paste, then it is not that we do not read it. The court warned the petitioner that not a single ground is justified and we will impose damages on you. Justice DY Chandrachud of the Supreme Court said that this is a publicity interest litigation and while dismissing the application, imposed a damages of Rs 10,000 on the petitioner. The petitioner had said that the families of the lawyers who died due to Kovid should be compensated.
Demand for compensation on the death of lawyersThe petitioner lawyer before the bench of Supreme Court Justice DY Chandrachud said that due to Kovid, lawyers have died a lot and they have no other source of income. A direction should be issued to give compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the lawyers who have died up to 60 years. On this, Justice Chandrachud said that this PIL is bogus. You are in a black coat, it does not mean that your life is more valuable. The Supreme Court said that it cannot be that lawyers should demand compensation and we should allow it. A lot of people have died in covid and you cannot be an exception.
