Kumble said that Australian players did not take an aggressive attitude towards that player, provided he was a friend of Shane Warne. Kumble further said that whenever he went out to bat, the players of the Kangaroo team did not argue with him as he and Shane Warne were good friends. In a conversation with Star Sports, Kumble said, ‘It was a matter of secret. Let me tell you one thing. He did not go after a cricketer who was a friend of Shane Warne. So when you go out to bat and you are a good friend of Shane Warne, the Australian players didn’t bother you. It was Warney. He used to take care of his friends like this. Anil Kumble also told that Shane Warne always wanted to do well against India. Kumble told that the 1998 series was a series of matches. Kumble said, ‘His good performance against India makes him even greater. He wanted to do well against India because we were good players of spin bowling. In that 1998 series when he was talking about Sachin vs Warne. Warne was heavy on Sachin in the first innings but then Sachin did a great job in the second innings.
